According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the worst-kept secret of the offseason has finally become a reality: Matt Hasselbeck has agreed to a multi-year contract to join the Tennessee Titans.
As I mentioned in a few articles during the offseason (here and here) Hasselbeck to the Titans is a great fit on paper for both sides.
His familiarity with the likes of Mike Reinfeldt established him as an obvious target when the need for a veteran signal-caller arose. For Hasselbeck, Nashville presents him with an opportunity to still prove he's a viable starting QB in this league while simultaneously showing Jake Locker the ropes while he participates in his apprenticeship on the sidelines.
Hopefully, the Titans will be getting the Hasselbeck that turned back the hands of time as he played splendidly in Seattle's playoff run last year. Up to that point, Matt had a sub-par last couple of regular seasons, which prompted his former organization to attempt to go in another direction by reeling in Charlie Whitehurst, which hasn't worked out that well at this point.
