We'll have more to say about the defensive tackle position when its turn comes up in the positional analysis, but my difficulty dating back to 2009 understanding the Titans' moves at the position continues. It's not particularly the Divens move, which is more or less adding a body to a position where they haven't made any moves since the season ended. Rather, it's that the team began and ended the year with five DTs: Jurrell Casey, Zach Clayton, Karl Klug, Sen'Derrick Marks, and Shaun Smith. All of those men are under contract for 2012, and except for Marks, beyond that. Jerry Gray was kind enough to amuse me greatly by talking about how Shaun Smith, the only true widebody of the group, needed to do a better job of being a penetrator, and of course Givens gives them another widebody at the position. Frankly, all I want to do at this point is quote Axel Foley from the end of Beverly Hills Cop to Jerry Gray.
