The Jaggernaut answers Total Titans' questions about the Jaguars

Written by Andrew Strickert on .

Thanks again to Shane Clemons, who runs the fine Jacksonville Jaguars blog, The Jaggernaut. Shane joins us this week to give us a Jaguars viewpoint in this week's question and answer exchange. You can read my answers to Shane's questions here. Following are his answers to our questions.

Total Titans: One of our regular readers, Scott, asks, "Like the Titans, the Jaguars failed to take a step forward this year. Both teams actually look like they are moving in the wrong direction and have multiple weaknesses. With that in mind, where do you see the team going in the draft? Is it time for another QB, or are they satisfied enough with the Gabbert/Henne tandem for at least another year?"

On the Titans positioning for the 2013 draft

Written by Andrew Strickert on .

According to the NFL, if the season ended today the Titans would have the eighth overall pick in the 2013 draft.  Since there are still a full slate of games to be played, the Titans will draft somewhere from fifth to thirteenth, depending upon the outcome of some of those games.

If you want to know who to root for on Sunday, as it affects the Titans' draft position, here's your info.

Titans fans, ask a Jaguars blogger your questions

Written by Andrew Strickert on .

The Titans' 2012 season will mercifully come to a close on Sunday as they host the 2-13 Jacksonville Jaguars, whose fans are also probably quite glad their season will be coming to an end.  We'll be joined in our final question and answer exchange of the season by Shane Clemons of the Jaguars blog The Jaggernaut.  If you have any questions for Shane about the Jaguars, please leave them in comments and I'll pass them along.

I hope all of you have had a very merry Christmas.  Best wishes to you and yours for continued happy holidays.

Titans annihilated by Packers, 55-7

Written by Tom Gower on .

Well, that was fun. By the time the Titans got a first down, they were down 14-0, if only because Randall Cobb failed to bring in two catchable passes. At halftime, it was 20-0. After the Packers had the ball five times on the second half, it was 55-0. Only a Jake Locker pass to Kenny Britt in the final two minutes of the game avoided the shutout.

There's not a lot to say about this game. Jake Locker's passer rating at halftime was 0.0, thanks to two interceptions and only three completions on a dozen attempts. Chris Johnson found no running room. The first half defense was pretty bad. The second half defense was beyond terrible. Brett Kern shanked a punt. Rob Bironas did ok, but didn't really get the chance to do much.

Merry Christmas, Packers fans!

Titans-Packers inactives, gameday thread

Written by Tom Gower on .

The inactives are out for today's game at Lambeau Field between the Tennessee Titans and the Green Bay Packers, and there's some unexpected bad news for the Titans. First, the inactives:

GREEN BAY PACKERS: TE Tom Crabtree, RB Alex Green, WR Jordy Nelson, RB James Starks, CB Charles Woodson, DE C.J. Wilson, DE Jerel Worthy

TENNESSEE TITANS: C Kevin Matthews, LB Colin McCarthy, CB Ryan Mouton, OT Mike Otto, QB Rusty Smith, DE Scott Solomon, WR Kendall Wright

The big news for the Titans is Mike Otto is out with an illness after not being listed in Friday's Official Injury Report. McCarthy practiced all week and it was thought he might be able to return to practice. Wright, Solomon, and Mouton were all questionable as well. Daman William returns to action with the same OIR designation. With Otto out, Byron Stingily is listed as the starter at right tackle. Fernando Velasco apparently will move back to center, with Mitch Petrus getting the start at left guard. Tim Shaw and Will Witherspoon will presumably play once again in McCarthy's place. Daniel Baldridge makes his Titans debut. For the Packers, Green and Worthy were listed as questionable, while the other five players are out. With Green and Starks out, Ryan Grant gets the start at running back. He'll probably split time with DuJuan Harris.

Feel free to leave your comments here durng today's game or follow me on Twitter, where I'll be chiming in from time to time.

Enemy Intelligence: Green Bay Packers

Written by Tom Gower on .

The Green Bay Packers are coming off a 21-13 road win against the Chicago Bears that improved their record to 10-4 on the season and clinched the NFC North title. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes to James Jones to stake the Packers to a 21-7 third quarter lead, and the Bears weren't able to find the end zone again. That final score is deceptively close-kicker Mason Crosby, who's struggled this year some this year, missed two makeable field goals, and the Packers attempted an unnecessary throwback on a punt return in the fourth quarter that gave the Bears excellent field position they turned into three points.

After the jump, what I saw from the Packers last week against the Bears, and the other of their games I've seen.
