It feels like I just did this, because I did, but another one of the questions coming out of Sunday's game against the Broncos is just how well exactly Vince Young played.  I think the offense is being underrated as a reason for the defeat-the lack of second half productivity was a big deal, but the first half's failures to turn yardage into points is to me the real reason the Titans lost, as they had three drives inside the Bronco 35 that didn't result in any points on the board.

The normal disclaimers apply: I'm doing this off TV footage, as I didn't attend the game. That means I'm not seeing things from VY's perspective and my analysis could easily be skewed by that. I also tried to do this more as a quick-and-dirty analysis, giving him a simple "plus" or "minus" for good and bad plays, along with a couple "no grades" where I didn't feel comfortable making a decision.  I also didn't spend any time writing about formation and whatnot, since there's video.  Thanks to earlers for putting that together.  That said, on with the show...

I just heard this news on the radio on my way home this evening. Titans first-round draft pick defensive end Derrick Morgan has a torn ACL and will be out for the remainder of the season.

In the 'it could have been worse' news category, defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks has a strained MCL and will be out three or four weeks. Receiver Justin Gage has a sprained hamstring and will also be out several weeks.

The Titans have four games remaining before their bye, so it's very possible Marks and Gage won't return until the first game after the bye, which is at Miami on November 14.

That's really bad news for Morgan, who was starting to have a promising year. The loss of Marks will also be felt. Depth is an issue at DT, with only Tony Brown, Jason Jones and Jovan Haye available. Brown has returned from his knee injury but still doesn't look 100%. I'm sure this will stir up the talk about bringing back Fat Albert.

I'm not going to miss Gage too much. Maybe this will give Damian Williams some more playing time, so maybe something good might come out of that situation.

Blunders such as Chris Hope's costly pass-interference penalty and Marc Mariani's fumble on a late 4th quarter kickoff return combined to serve as proverbial nails in the coffin during the Tennessee Titans' 26-20 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Hope's miscue led to the Broncos scoring a touchdown to take a lead that they would fail to relinquish and Mariani's ill-fated decision to mimic Superman backfired as Denver recovered the ball while simultaneously sealing their defeat of the Titans.

Tony Brown was listed as questionable and will play.  Mike Otto is back from surgery and wasn't on the injury report, but doesn't return to the lineup; I guess they like Troy Kropog more than him, at least right now.  Jacob Ford is questionable and with the depth at defensive end, there's no need to play him if he's not fully healthy.  Nick Schommer takes Jason McCourty's spot in the lineup, but the Titans didn't add a cornerback like I thought they might.

DENVER BRONCOS
OL Chris Clark, CB Andre Goodman, FB Spencer Larsen, RB Knowshon Moreno, OL Eric Olsen, QB Brady Quinn (3rd QB), TE Richard Quinn, LB Wesley Woodyard

Goodman was questionable, but being out again likely means more of rookie corner Perrish Cox, whom the Colts successfully picked on last week.  OT Ryan Harris was also questionable, but will be in the starting lineup.  And, of course, Quinn at the third quarterback means Tim Tebow is active and we could be seeing him today.  Then again, I'm a little more concerned about the Broncos iso'ing receivers on option routes against the Titans' linebackers.

The Tennessee Titans (2-1) will be seeking their third win of the season as they play host to the Denver Broncos (1-2) at LP Field tomorrow afternoon.

Coming off an impressive road victory against the G-Men, the Titans will need another solid performance in order to secure the W and keep pace with fellow AFC South foes Indianapolis and Houston; who are also 2-1 and looking to attain supremacy in the early stages of the divisional race.

Although its magnitude paled in comparison to a certain NBA player who infamously decided to take his talents to South Beach this fall, the Tennessee Titans made a somewhat controversial call of their own before the start of the NFL season.

The decision I'm talking about is the Titans releasing promising RB LeGarrette Blount only a day or so after the rookie sledgehammer had, for the time being, made the team's final 53-man roster.

As a result of Blount resurfacing and showing some power running ability with the Tampa Bay Bucs and the recent concerns regarding the workload of "Mr. 2,000" himself: Chris Johnson, let's revisit the Titans' decision to part ways with their former running back.
